Is there a better, more detailed version of Spore?

I was watching videos of spore on youtube and I went to the official channel of spore and saw the gamplay there and i was like O.o! The vids are http://www.youtube.com/user/Spore and the background in the cell stage looked like crystal clear water and the creature stage was so shiny! Is it my graphics card or is it a new version?
