Sims 3 create a world without sims 3 installed?

I have the sims 3 on a mac osx with WA and LN installed. I want to make worlds the the caw tool but it doesn't work for mac. I have an old pc up in my room where I have the SIms 2 installed. Is there a way to install create a world on that computer without the sims 3 installed. So I could take worlds I make on a jump drive and put them into my game on my mac?
